Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau.

Exquisite Corpse (or Cadavre Exquis) began as a writinggame in 1925, invented by Surrealists André Breton, Jacques Prévert, Yves Tanguy, and Marcel Duhamel in Paris.

Inspired by the parlor game "consequences," players would write words or phrases in sequence, folding the paper to conceal what had been written before passing it along, leaving only one line visible at a time.

The name comes from their first sentence: "Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau" ("The exquisite corpse shall drink the new wine").
